Unconditional Love

If unconditional love is the destination, the heart must be the GPS that guides us on the journey towards perfecting that way of being.

October 4, 2024

Whatever your version of heaven may be, whether it’s an actual place where all of your ancestors and pets are, a state of being in the celestial realms that is free from suffering, or anything in between, the one thing that all possibilities will likely embody is that it is perfect.

There is no violence, no anger, no fighting, no discontentment.

No exceptions.

If heaven were a club, it’s hard to imagine there would be the guy who acts out of line and needs to get escorted out. A no-tolerance policy seems completely unnecessary, because admission would likely mean you’ve already transcended beyond falling into any state of being that is anything less than the full and complete embodiment of love.

It is heaven, after all.

That being the case, ff there is something that we as humans need to master before we graduate from Earth School, jump off the karmic wheel, and move on to whatever comes next in our infinite expansion, it would seem totally reasonable to assume that the “final exam” is for us to learn to fully embody unconditional love, before we complete our time in a physical body.

If unconditional love is the destination, the heart must be the GPS that guides us on the journey towards perfecting that way of being.

No doubt there will be some challenges along the way that will test our capacity to love unconditionally, and that’s great! Without there being conditions that are difficult to love, how else would we learn to create the ability to love without conditions?

For anyone who chooses to embark on this journey, it will require them to give up quite a lot along the way - justification, defensiveness, resistance, dominance, and the need to be right to name a few - and replace them with alternatives like acceptance, forgiveness, understanding, and acknowledgement.

And maybe the biggest thing of all we need to give up is the idea that we need to like something or someone to love them.

As Martin Luther King Jr. said, “...Love is greater than like. Love is understanding, redemptive goodwill for all men, so that you love everybody, because God loves them.”

Sure it’s easier said than done, but fortunately we don’t need to be perfect all along the way -  that’s why we have this, and many other lifetimes, to get it figured out.

We will absolutely make mistakes, but as long as we are conscious about improving, there will always be more opportunities for us to make choices that are in our highest alignment and show that we have learned from our previous experiences.

This is the difference between being perfect and the act of perfecting - the former is the destination and the latter is the journey. Perfection is the result of our conscious actions along the path of perfecting our way of being, and it is only our actions that we can control, not the result of them.

In this lies the keys to manifestation, which is to envision the ultimate goal while focusing on the steps it takes to get there.

And if heaven is the destination you seek, then loving (not liking!) all things unconditionally now are the steps to get you there.
